( No Title )
SO i deleted a lot of those posts from last night cus they were bothering me, but then i started asking some questions like “were the terms butch/femme really just made by lesbians?” and “where were all the bisexuals/pansexuals etc etc in the equation in the past? terms for these people were different back then so is it possible bi erasure has caused ppl to ignore the ppl who contributed in the past?” and “why is it a lot of times when someone says ‘butch/femme’ are lesbian exclusive’, they turn out to be TERFS??”
and so i did some research and wouldnt you believe my surprise at what i found out.
this post highlighting how, not only was the first use of the term femme used by a lesbian for her bisexual lover, but that bisexual/pansexual (and ppl of various genders) have been part of the community forever and were using butch/femme with eachother for ev er. the post explains why the discourse changed and the history behind it.
i also just suggest checking out this blog but specifically their tags here and here cus they give even more insight into it. also they got some suggestions for cool reads.
also TERFS uh thanks for literally fucking nothing??
The more you know!
