George is sent to The Fort by his bosses at the NCR to deliver the terms of a ceasefire between the two warring factions, but he’s mistaken for a physician there to operate on Caesar’s tumor. He’s too nervous to try to tell them he’s not. Jerry is trying to ask out an NCR trooper on leave, and mentions that he was thinking of enlisting with them to impress her. He figures George can fudge some paperwork later and get him declared unfit for service. Elaine is trying to get back at some jerk in a checkered suit at The Tops who took her seat near the air conditioning for Jerry’s stand-up show. She tries to get her new boss, Mr. House, to send some securitrons after him by subtly implying the guy’s trying to usurp his power in The Strip. Newman finally convinces Kramer to take up a job at Mojave Express, insisting that with his brains and Kramer’s brawn they can rule the Mojave wasteland(’s mail routes) together. Jerry fills out an enlistment form, exaggerating his strengths to show off, then tries to get into contact with George but can’t reach him. George, meanwhile, is brought to Caesar on the operating table, but Caesar dies before he can make the first cut. George, fearing for his life, tells the guards outside Caesar must have been poisoned, but in his passing moments said what a great doctor he was and what a dent he was making in that brain tumor. To her surprise, Mr. House believes Elaine, but has her personally track down Benny instead of using the securitrons. Frustrated at doing legwork for what was supposed to be an office job, she finds him but instead pops the idea that they should work together to bring down Mr. House. Newman is upset because Kramer keeps getting more high-value packages than him despite only working there a week. He flies into a rage when he’s asked to deliver a single poker chip, saying to let Kramer deliver the package and storming off to The Divide. Jerry ends up deployed at Hoover Dam, due to his gussying up his resume, where he finds that the trooper he was going after has a husband back in California. The dam is attacked by a Legion raiding party, led by George, who’s become idolized as the last person Caesar confided in before his death and a “great doctor” who was “really putting a dent in that brain tumor”. Benny ropes Elaine into his plot to bring down Mr. House by finding a courier delivering one of Mr. House’s packages and shooting him in the head, but Elaine has never shot a gun before. When Benny takes the sack off the courier’s head, it turns out to be Kramer. In a scene in the credits, Jerry and George sit on the edge of Hoover Dam, exhausted, while the NCR and Legion engage in a bloody fight.
