Let’s talk about troll gender roles.
I think there’s a somewhat widely held idea that gender roles just don’t play that big of a role in troll society, at least not in a social sense.
But I don’t think that’s quite right. If you look at the twelve Beta trolls, you can see some really definite gendered patterns, both in the behavioral codes they hold themselves to, and their interactions with one another. And based on what I’ve over-analyzed from the trolls story arc, it’s my pet theory that Alternian gender roles, although skewed as heck by their awful societal values and norms, are sort of “flipped” from traditional human gender roles.
