This is literally like if someone forced my white best friend to read comments left on a KKK website to me as though she was saying them to make some sort of point about how racism is bad. No shit? What in the world are you proving by making people who didn’t say these crappy things in the first place say them? Or assuming that the kind of person who would say this sort of thing wouldn’t say it to my face?

Probably because they really would have said it to their faces.
I agree that it feels abusive. This is the biggest problem with the sjw mindset in a nutshell: holding people accountable for things others have done, guilt by association. This is the mindset that creates some of the most deplorable villains imaginable – the concept that you can hold someone innocent accountable for another’s crimes and in your twisted mind’s eye see that as any kind of justice.
