To answer some of the questions I’ve been getting.

WHAT IS IT: Silent Hill: Promise is a fan-sequel to Silent Hill 2. It is an interactive webcomic in the style of a graphical text adventure game.

When Does it update: daily. specifically every day before midnight, eastern standard time. usually sometime between 2pm and 8pm.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE: Just leave a “command” on the newest screen. Commands should be in second person. commands are selected from the pool on the basis of relevance, phrasing, interesting-ness, etc.. commands generally should not be too long or complex.

How long will it be: promise is intended to be about the length of a full silent hill game. there will be somewhere around 5 main areas, plus in-between exploration.

How much is planned out: I know all about the main character, and the general thrust of the story. At the moment there are multiple possible endings in mind however, everything in specific is up to those who give commands. where the comic ends up might surprise even its author.

What’s up with the art style: Promise is drawn daily, with no buffer due to the interactive nature of the comic. one or more pages are drawn every day, and so the art is left rough.

Why is Vanessa’s butt so big: because she eats too much cake.
