Thinking about how the main problem with Homestuck narratively is that every sburb/sgrub player is ‘the main character’. You could write the entirety of Homestuck locked to the POV of any single character and none of them would feel like you were following a side character or passive protagonist. But the actual comic doesn’t give any of them (with the arguable exception of John and Vriska) their due weight in the story so it just feels wrong.
