So the thing is that since Otto knew that Norman was the Green Goblin it must be that Otto and Norman are not from the EXACT universe depicted in the Sam Raimi trilogy, but rather from a universe similar to it.

That means any number of things could be different. Maybe Otto was never married for instance. Maybe he and Norman were together.. 😉
