Ken stared into his coffee cup and wondered if he was doing the right thing. He was getting married in the morning.
Was he doing this because he loved her, or because she was a fellow digidestined?
He had dated other women; some had been smarter, more beautiful, or more composed than her but he always ended it. Because none of them knew… none of them understood.
Where he’d been, what he’d done…
And then he understood the real reason he was doing it. It was because of all the people in the world, she was the least likely to stand by and let him become the Emperor again.
She loved him, and he needed her, and at the end of the day that would have to be enough.
