Skin and Teeth
When I was Meenah Peixes I was a highblooded sweadwelling troll. I was in line to be the Empress of Beforus a position I never wanted. Someday I’ll go into that. My fears, my guilt, my disdain for the role I was supposed to fulfill, how much of a heinous bitch I could be. All that.
But for now, I’d like to talk about something I spoke to Vriska about recently. Appearances. How trolls looked, and for me, specifically, how we seadwellers were different from the land dwelling peeps.
Our skin, as a species, wasn’t flat grey, as far as I remember. It was more a deeper color, which varied per person. It usually took on a very slight, slight tint of the person’s blood color. For me, my skin was kind of a lightly fuchsia tinted darker tone. with a slightly rougher texture than landdwelling trolls. I had freckles, fuchsia, which dotted my cheeks and my shoulders and chest. I remember being alternatively proud of them, thinking they were cute, and embarrassed if someone teased me about it. I spent a lot of time working on image, so I suppose it was important to me.
Horns, as I said not too long ago, in response to one of Felix’s posts about horns, I remember the same way. They weren’t candy corn colored, and segmented by color. They were of tapering color, and a lot of them had ridges, like the horns of a ram or something. They tended to be darker near the head, and lighter near the tips, though some people had nearly the same color throughout. It depended on the person. They ranged from deep black, to brown, to a deep, earthy orange ,and so on. Some were even red. I remember that there was a thing about horns, and how they pertained to conventional physical attractiveness. Larger horns were seen as attractive, sexy. To a point at least. There was a point in which they became TOO large, and while attractive..also goofy. Kind of like if you took a conventionally attractive attribute on this world and hyper exaggerated it. My horns were thick, and long, maybe about 9 or 10 inches long, ridged, and a deep, purplish black at the bottom, and leading up to a smokier plum at the top. They curved outward from my head, similar to how they were depicted in homestuck. Like a big H on my head. They were attractive by troll standards, and I let it get to my head (heh, literally :p), and got a bit vain about them. I miss them
I miss them a lot.
