Anon I guess my main problem with that logic is that you could say that about Meenah too. You could say she isnt racially coded Black, shes coded white but she just steals from Black culture a lot
By saying that meenah is ‘coded black’ and is ‘racially coded black’ you are assigning a list of stereotypical traits to black people. Meenah is Meenah. She grew up a princess in a completely alien culture. She has no experience of american blackness and it is irrelevant to her character. Meenah is literally the most privileged person from Beforus or Alternia.
Meenah and Her Imperious Condescension, as characters in their cultures, have never experienced marginalization for being ‘black coded’. They have only ever experienced privilege from being tyrian, literally the most powerful trolls in the entirety of their cultures
What the last comment said. Not only that, but people like Meenah and H.I.C are aliens. From an alien culture outside of our own. We see it through the lens of a comic, yes, with the human authors perceptions and expression within it. But the core, who they are, is inhuman. Alien and molded by a different culture. With a different fucking set of societal perceptions and social and biological differences. As someone who is Meenah, I firmly remember my culture being far removed from human culture.
That being said, yeah, the people you keep harping on were in fact the most powerful and privledged people on the planet
