otherkin is fake and you’re all schizos.
Are we fake or are we schizophrenic? It’s one or the other, buddy. Make up your mind.
The concept of otherkin is fake. Schizophrenia is very real though. You don’t understand the statement completely, so you shouldn’t even be responding. It’s not called being “otherkin” it’s called being schizophrenic.
Schizophrenia typically sets in between the ages of 18 and 25, and generally doesn’t appear after the age of thirty. Most of the otherkin here on tumblr are teenagers, and thus, unlikely to suffer from schizophrenia.
Also, while its true that some types of schizophrenia include delusions as part of their symptoms, it also involves confused and incoherent speech, known as word salad, abnormal movement and lack of motor coordination, reduced exhibition of emotion, decreased hygiene and lack of desire to socialize.
Its incorrect, and ignorant to typify all otherkin as schizophrenic, especially attempting an armchair diagnosis over the internet. There are plenty of other mental illnesses that include delusions, and you are not attempting any kind of differential diagnosis.
And that’s just why you’re wrong about otherkin being schizophrenic specifically.
Not old enough to go the bathroom without raising their hand, but old enough to determine they’re actually a dolphin/padlock/Dr. Who/Jimi Hendrix reincarnation, because you’re all just trying to express yourselves, right?
And if not specifically schizophrenia, there are a myriad of other mental disorders these pretend-playing children probably have. Even though I’m only in higher education for psychology, I’m going to take a leap and say plenty fit the bill anyways.
And of course I’m not fucking attempting a differential diagnosis, mainly for the fact that I’m not a fucking doctor and never claimed to be.
So what exactly were you doing when you claimed all kin were schizophrenic?
