So, within the Replay Value AU setting, the Dreambubbles are generally considered to be terrible places for personal growth. This is because the Dreambubbles mute one’s dharma, preventing the dreaming dead from making a substantial difference in the world or in themselves.
Say, though, a Ring ship drops off something like 6-8 phones in the Dreambubbles. A small group of Dreamers pick them up, hook them up to Bubblr (or Deadjournal, or Glubber, or whatever), and start posting. And, in so doing, they slowly begin transforming themselves and the world around them…
Practically speaking, this would be a game of Microbloggers of the Lost Island, taking place over some online service or other. (I personally don’t like hosting roleplays on Tumblr, since it doesn’t centralize well. But if it’s what you’re most familiar with, go for it!) Microbloggers is a diced, Chuubo’s-derived system that uses “Non-Violent Communication” as a framework – allowing it to have more detailed rules for RPing social situations than, say, “roll influence”.
Aside: Note that Microbloggers is best played when everyone’s main problems are misunderstandings and emotional immaturity – rather than, say, conflicting value systems. Given that you’ll be playing a bunch of dead teenagers, this is probably going to be true anyway, but I wanted to make sure.
