I respect that. But in order to have a world without racism she’d have had to have rebuilt the entire world from the ground up, including the muggle world.
If wizards of the world are all brothers no matter the race, where were wizards when the Europeans were destroying Native land in American and taking over the place? I have to assume that Native American wizards were just as concerned about having their land taken as muggle Native Americans. Its bad writing for Jo not to address this.
Racism normally isn’t a fight I throw my hat into, because there are others more entrenched and eloquent than I. But this is a writing/worldbuilding question. And JKR’s worldbuilding has always sucked, and had its corners filled in by fans who are better writers than her.
I say that as someone who showed up to 3 Harry Potter midnight book releases.
