In kinda irked , I really , em really just saw a post saying that the events in lord of the flies would t have happened if it were girls instead , because having a banging clearly makes you more equipt to deal with stressful and dangerous situations

Adolescent female social heirarchy is one of the cruelest experiences for girls growing up. As someone who grew up poor, scrawny (prior to puberty, I was always the shortest in my class, and I might as well have been made of twigs), and with ADHD, I am extremely well-acquainted with how unrelentingly sadistic young girls can be towards each other. I’ve been dragged along on gravel by my hair, had fingernails dug deep into my shoulders while my bike was pulled out from under me, and have had every kind of rumor imaginable spread about me (the nature of which changed dramatically after I began developing). If anything about you is “different”, you’re pretty much fucked. You’re “weird”, or “a spazz”. When you get older, you become a “slut”, or a “freak”.
I suppose my time on tumblr has taught me that the cycle never ends. Not only has nothing changed, but social media has made it that much worse, because now they can take that bullying worldwide, and–most recently–they now abuse the various labels of activism as justification for it.
Girls are catty, petty, and horrible to each other. Anyone that tells you otherwise is full of more shit than German scat porn.
