Now for those of you who had the privilege of not knowing what a therian was I am deeply sorry, a therian is a person (otherkin) that thinks they can change forms. Most believe a mental shift (they act like what they think their animal would act like). Which I think would be the best to see at a mall or something, some random pseudoscene kid start running around growling at people before being tackled by security and have a stern talking to. But by far they are much worse, it’s one thing to think you have the soul of something and you may think feel it’s limbs but it’s another to think you can mentally shift to a different thing.

As an actual therian, allow me to be the first to tell you that you are completely wrong in your definition. Buddy, if I could shapeshift, do you honestly think I’d be wasting my time on the internet?

A therian is someone who identifies as a animal which has been proven to exist, on a non-physical level.

“Shifts,” as termed them in the otherkin community (examples being astral shifts, cameo shifts, dream shifts, phantom shifts, etc.) are not experienced by every therian (nor every otherkin)–more so, there are several types of shifts, such as “physical shifting,” which are viewed as complete and utter nonsense by most everyone, and opinions on certain shifts differ throughout the community.

Even shifting, however, therians (and otherkin) know not to act out in public as we understand basic self-control.
