@all otherkin, you just want to feel like you’re unique and a part of something bigger than your normal, everyday life. That’s normal, but don’t fucking act on it and delude yourself with this bullshit. Write a book. Donate money to charity. Learn to play an instrument. Don’t say you’re a fox or whatever and expect everyone to believe you
For one, there are a lot of otherkin, there’s nothing unique about it at this point.
Second, If you said the same thing about another belief system you would understand it sounds idiotic and rude. “You only want to be Christian because you want to feel like you’re part of something unique and bigger than yourself” Well, yes, that’s part of interacting with people you share beliefs with I suppose, but there’s so much more to it than that and though it’s an integral part of some people’s identity it’s not their whole identity.
Yes I believe I was an animal in a past life. I’m also pagan. I’m also a computer programmer. I’m also a writer. I’m also a gamer. I also have friends, and family, and pets I care very much about. I have other interests and hobbies and plans for the future. Just like you and anyone else we all have all kinds of things that make up our identity. We have lives outside of this.
I have written a book. I have donated to charity. I do know how to play a musical instrument (poorly albeit but I can manage the intro to stairway to heaven).
Do you think we just focus on this because we have nothing else? That’s not the case at all, otherkin are no more consumed by this than anyone else is with their religious or spiritual beliefs.
