Welp. I saw it. I don’t know what I can say about it.
As a literary piece, part of me feels like Hussie was crushed under the weight of his own masterpiece. But at the same time the ending has made me go back to the beginning. If only because I want to find out exactly how many ideas, concepts and plotpoints were dropped along the way.
As a kin source–meh??? I guess??? It doesn’t really say what happened to anyone, its all left up to interpertation??? Like I’ve known the mainline Homestuck story and my experience had already diverged long before this. To get something like my experience you’d have to rewrite everything after somewhere in the middle of Cascade (which I might do some day). As far as things being ‘right’ goes? I mean I guess we did create a new universe and so did they? maybe. People are arguing about that. I don’t know.
I don’t think I’m going to be able to have clear thoughts or feelings on the ending of Homestuck for weeks, or even longer. But the beginning? Hell, I’m ready to face that again.
