to be honest this otherkin stuff does bring up a lot of controversial question in particularly with transgender and identity. If you firmly believe in your mind that you identify as something does that give you the right to become it? What defines your authentic identity?

I think it’s unfair to say that it is mocking trangenderism because some people may really believe it. Calling them mentally ill? What mental illness is, is actually defined by what society believes that it is acceptable for people to do, without harming themselves or others. No harm comes from people having otherkin identities.

The natural cause of progression is to be accepting of everyone, however ridiculous it may sound. I’m sure there are people out there who are using it as a way of attention seeking but it’s not fair to judge the people who aren’t.

You seem to be under the false impression that most otherkin want to physically become their kintype, or be socially recognized as it.
