Whenever anybody says anything like “ohh I’d love to have a dragon; I want a dragon” I get a little bit of a skeevy feeling, because most of the time, in fantasy lit, dragons are portrayed as 100% sentient
Even in the Game of Thrones universe, where they aren’t capable of communicating through speech, there have been mentions of said dragons being smarter than humans regardless
So whenever anybody talks about us as if we’re a cute pet or something it just makes me uncomfortable.
