Soulbonds are people from other places resembling fictional works who have either a long distance connection into someone’s mind or show up as headmates. Some people are getting confused and saying it can only be one way or the other, but both things can happen.

The belief in soulbonds is a spiritual explanation for this phenomenon. When a soulbond is a headmate, that is all it is, a spiritual belief as an explanation.

Systems with soulbonds are still real systems. The term system is actually a term that came from the endogenic system community as a term to describe the phenomenon of sharing a head with multiple people.

While systems with DID or similar disorders and systems with soulbonds are different, we are both systems because the term system is a broad term. Soulbonds in systems are not confusing their identities for kintypes because soulbonds in systems work like system members and not kintypes.

So to explain it more easily, the term system is like the term mammal. Cats and dogs are both mammals but a cat isn’t a dog. Just because a cat isn’t a dog doesn’t mean that it isn’t a mammal.

A cat also isn’t a lizard because lizards are not mammals and work completely differently.
