what about the imitative kind of faking in which someone with an unstable sense of self unintentionally convinces themselves into thinking they’re sharing their body? imitative DID/OSDD is a thing and i’m sure that means it could apply to other forms of multiplicity?
Sorry for the delay in answering this post. I had remembered seeing an excellent post about imitative DID recently on tumblr and had hoped to cite it, but now of course I need it I can’t find it again. *sigh*
Anyway, what I know of imitative DID is that it is another disorder with symptoms that mimic DID. Generally BPD, or complex PTSD.
That’s nowhere near the same thing as sharing a headspace with another person.
I’d welcome anybody who has some good cited sources about exactly what constitutes ‘immitative DID’ so I’m taking less of a shot in the dark here.
