A good example is obscurus lupa, who I generally like but her reason for leaving was stupid. She had issues with money and needed more money and wanted to ask for donations from her fans on the site as opposed to just on her blog. Managment of channel awesome didn’t want that and told her that if she needs more money maybe she should make more than 1 episode every 4-5 months or so, then she left. work??? for money 0: ???

Actually, I was doing 3-4 videos a month, about one every week, and mentally and physically exhausted myself with a giant retrospective that apparently didn’t count because Mike didn’t watch it, and Doug was suggesting I shit out lazy cash in vlogs instead of quality work or utilizing midrolls, but it’s cool if you wanna remember it that way.
I worked my ass off and those shitlords didn’t notice, so you can fuck right off.
And ps- I was not asking for donations or hand outs, I was using midrolls and Patreon, which uses rewards for pledges, which is how I make a living doing this job you guys apparently think I’m so lazy at.

Okay, I’ll make this nice and easy for slagar, since obviously those under 1400 followers do the thinking for him.
This is a social media site where people reblog and share the posts of others. In fact, I’m only aware of these posts BECAUSE of people reblogging and sharing things with people. Social media sites exist for people to connect and share things with one another. Information is spread and can rapidly lead to ONE narrative, ONE message, and ONE “truth” about a situation. So when one person says “She got fired because she was lazy” and more and more people share that narrative, then that becomes the truth in many people’s minds. By responding quickly, she headed it off in the hopes of keeping ONE particular narrative from spreading, especially since her own fans saw it from her side first and she didn’t need to be inundated by people unfamiliar with the situation asking “WTF, Imma stop watching” or something stupid like that. Now, admittedly, she probably didn’t HAVE to, but it also seems clear that she was responding to cthulutarian since they were the one who sent you the ask. But then again, your willingness to believe cthulutarian’s word about it right away is a demonstration of how misinformation can spread (speaking of, cthulutarian has apologized to Lupa about all this, so nobody send any hate their way).
And it has nothing to do with how many or how few followers you have: when stuff like this spreads, it just spreads. One person reblogs from another and another and another. And it’s also perpetuated by you since you keep responding about it.
And just to head this off, yes I am a D-List internet celebrity. I’m also someone who has a great job that allows me to work from home, set my own hours, be creative, and get told by people that I have made their lives better. I have an immense sense of job satisfaction and pride in the people who watch my show. Hell, I’m even going to get married to someone who loves me and whom I love right back.
But most especially in regards to all those other things that make me so happy about my life… I’m also not an idiot. Now you can claim as much as you want that somehow we’re wasting our time arguing with you and responding to you about this, but at the end of the day, it’s our time to waste and we’re still going to be happy either way about it and keep doing our own thing and probably forget about you tomorrow and move on with our lives. Because that is what life is. But at least people who see this might just end up being a little less ignorant of things and a little less jerky about things that aren’t any of their business.
Anyway, that’s it for me. I’m going to go make a video about Twilight Zone comics. Because that is immensely fun for me. =)
Now, regardless of stances can you explain why these individuals forgone civil discussion like you have presented right of the gate and proceeded to sling insults?
As one of my other followers said, this could have been avoided if Lupa didn’t go on the warpath calling people shitlords, cussing them, and if Mickey hadn’t jumped on the bandwagon doing the same.
I highly respect you despite our our differnt stances on things, so that’s why I’m asking.

You can argue as much as you want how she could have done it without hurling insults, but she didn’t start it. As has been said, what happened has been public knowledge for some time and could have easily been checked by simply contacting her or even searching for it on tumblr. Instead, you called her “childish” and “lazy.”
Now, again, you were under no obligation to do so… but when SHE is not shown respect, she is under no obligation to return it. And even then, if you felt that she was not acting politely, you could have acted better and apologized for the misconception and she would have moved on. Note that I pointed out cthulutarian apologizing and Allison accepting said apology and moving on.
She is not the one perpetuating this. I am not perpetuating this. I said my piece and then moved on, but since you asked me specifically, there is my answer.
Now, you say you respect me, so take my opinion for what that is worth – just move on from this. I would recommend apologizing to Allison, as well, although of course I cannot force you to, but I think it’d be a good move. I will say this: you have not demonstrated much here for me to return said respect, but an apology would be a good start.
