Honestly if you put out a canon call saying “I already found [x person] so no doubles please!” I’m going to automatically think you’re an asshole.
Like if you’re respecting a friend’s discomfort with doubles then fine. Whatever.But if you’re legit just saying “Oh I already found one of you I don’t need another” then you are an asshole. People are not fucking trading cards. They’re not just collectibles that you can find and say “that’s ok I already have one!”
And like, what if you have a falling out with that person? What are you gonna do? “Oh this slot for [x person] is open again in my life now!” ??
Like honestly this attitude is gross and makes people feel worthless and replaceable. Like they’re only important based on their fictotype. And honestly it’s no wonder people are so afraid of doubles if that’s the prevailing attitude, because the anxiety over being replaced that that could cause is just. Astounding.
