How am I saying the character’s mine? Also I don’t think that character belongs to any specific person. And I identify as the Tin Woodman, but not the character the Tin Woodman. If I was the character, I’d be part of a book and therefore unable to be typing on the computer like I am right now.
Hilariously the character of the Tin Woodman specifically is in the public domain and free to be used by anyone. So even if kin WERE plagiarizing you’d be exempt.
For those anti-kin who like to say that fictionkin are somehow ‘stealing’ from authors or engaging in copyright infringement (????) here is some stuff for you to consider.

Actually a lot of fictionkin had memories, feelings, astral limbs, and other experiences relating to their kintype long before they had heard of the specific character. Learning of the character brought clarity and understanding to those memories and experiences.
