So I don’t really get into The Discourse regarding this topic because it’s just not my thing, but now I gotta wonder why it seems socially acceptable to discuss having factives but not being factkin. Like… where is the line drawn because it seems pretty thin to me.
The entire “factkin” concept pisses me off to begin with from a spiritual standpoint because there have always been reincarnated historical figures and people from past eras in this world. Up until Tumblr got its hands on the concept of kin and decided to apply it to fucking everything, it was considered normal, because acting like people are made “immune” to reincarnation because their name appeared in a history book is fucking stupid.
Being kin means identifying as something not human, or not from this world; thus the distinction between otherkin (not human) and fictionkin (can be human, but still not from this current world). If you’re a reincarnated historical figure from this world, like if you’re Cleopatra or George Washington or something, you’re not fucking humankin (which is, let’s be real, what “factkin” boils down to). You’re just reincarnated.
You can be both. You can be kin, and you can be a reincarnated human. But being reincarnated from a previous human life doesn’t make you kin of any kind.
(I’m not gonna touch on the idea of being “kin” of people who are still alive, because it’s not even vaguely relevant to me.)
