Now I want there to be broader discussion. People who subscribe to the belief that gore and mutilation are acceptable in fiction, but that other forms of violence (like noncon) or socially unacceptable things (like incest) should still be disallowed, need to sit down and be quiet until they can stop being raging hypocrites.
If you can rationalize the potential enjoyment found in the fictional depiction of something that is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, cruel and violent and absolutely unacceptable in reality, clearly that thought pattern can extend beyond that which you yourself are able to find enjoyable. You can personally loathe something and still acknowledge and accept the idea that other people can enjoy it without being bad people.
