multiplicity-is-a-spectrum:

traumagenicssystem:

Alright, listen…

If you call yourself an “endogenic system” or think you can have a system without DID/DDNOS

You either:

Are faking and dont know it

OR

Actually do have DID/OSSD and just dont know it/dont remember your trauma

No in betweens. No exceptions.

Sigh…

Yes, in-betweens. Yes, exceptions.

Multiplicity simply means “more than one”. It was never “DID or OSDD only”, or “traumagenic only”. If you are more than one person sharing one body, you’re multiple. If you’re multiple, then yes, you can in fact use the term “system”. “System” was, as far as records show, a term coined by a singlet; it was not created by the traumagenic community, and has been used by traumagenic and endogenic systems since at least the 90s. “System” as a term isn’t (or at least wasn’t) even well-known in the general DID community outside some online communities, apparently.

Here, the same links I gave someone else:

Furthermore…

You can’t “fake” something and not know. Faking is purposeful deceit. It means you know it’s not real but are trying to fool people. Is it possible that someone thinks they’re multiple but might be closer to median, or have another condition that causes some sort of “personality states”? Sure. But that is not “faking”.

Also, the argument that all endogenic systems actually have DID/OSDD is boring and trite now, thanks. Some people just do not fit the diagnostic criteria and there is nothing wrong with that. People like you accuse of endogenic systems of “taking from” the DID community, but then turn around and try to shove endogenic systems into boxes they don’t fit in or need. Stop. It. Telling people that they have a disorder but don’t know it or that they have TRAUMA THEY DON’T REMEMBER is far more dangerous and heinous than just letting endogenic folks call themselves systems. You don’t know their past, you don’t know their symptoms, or how their minds function; you cannot diagnose them with a disorder, and it sure as hell is not your place to tell them they have trauma they don’t remember.

(PS: Acting like you know someone’s history and mental condition better than they do, and insisting that YOU know the truth above them, and suggesting that they don’t know the truth of their own lives, is disgusting and borderline– if not outright– abusive. STOP. IT.)

(PPS: Plenty of endogenic systems HAVE experienced trauma that they remember well enough. It just didn’t CREATE their system. Endogenic does not mean “never experienced trauma”. It means “not FORMED from trauma”.)

Leave. Other systems. Alone. And this goes for endogenic as well as traumagenic systems.

Systems are people who are multiple. Multiplicity does not require trauma or a diagnosis. This seriously isn’t even a debate anymore, except to people who just cannot let people exist in peace.
