Hiya suckers!
We’ve had an absolutely phenomenal response to yesterday’s new episode, which we can only guess means some super savvy tastemaker linked us somewhere that our analytics aren’t picking up. Whoever you are, masked stranger, we salute you.
This also means we’ve had an influx of new followers, which I think makes this the ideal time to reintroduce the show and your horrible hosts.
Murder-Suicide Matinee is a podcast where two internet rivals try to hurt each other physically and mentally by taking turns to pick a bad movie that both hosts have to sit through. There are a couple of loose ground rules:
- selections are made in secret, only revealed to the victim immediately before the screening
- we can pick movies we’ve seen before, if we really want to hurt ourselves that much
- we mostly focus on animated movies, but there is no rule against breaking that mold if and when we see fit
- ‘bad’ for the purposes of the podcast just means movies likely to make our co-host suffer. They can be inept, incomprehensible, ideologically irritating, or just universally panned by critics. They could also be award winning family favourites, just as long as at least one of us will hate sitting through them.
Cami (a.k.a @cafiffle) is an animator and storyboard artist based in Seattle. She enjoys dressing up as an elf and eating loudly into microphones.
Rosa (a.k.a @mortalityplays) is a cartoonist slash bartender from Glasgow, Scotland. She enjoys getting mad about things with no provocation and editing out all of Cami’s mouth sounds.
If you want to suggest movies for us to pull from in future episodes, you can message us here on tumblr or email us at murdersuicidematinee@gmail.com.
You can find the podcast on Libsyn or by searching on iTunes (where, you guessed it, we’d love for you to rate and review the show for other new listeners!)
And that’s it! The rest is all in our audio catalogue of suffering. Please do continue to share and enjoy the podcast, we are thrilled to have you all in our horrible, horrible basement, and hope you stay forever.
Hey, if you haven’t checked out our podcast before, this is a great week to do it!
DO IT IT’S SO GOOD
