So here’s a fun comic book history lesson for ya.
From his debut issue in 1977 up until X-Men (1991) #6 in 1992 Sabretooth was just known by the name ‘Sabretooth’.
Members of Team X (Maverick, Wolverine) start calling him ‘Creed’ starting in X-Men #6, a name that he doesn’t recognize when its spoken to him.
It takes all the way until 1993, in issue #3 of the original Sabretooth mini-series that anyone says his first name. Its Mystique who says it.
Can you imagine being so fucked up for years by brainwashing, false memories and mental manipulation that you don’t even remember your own goddamn name?
Logan didn’t remember. If Maverick remembered he didn’t care to say it. Mystique did though.
