Sharing this is hard.

I am retiring from illustration as a serious hobby.

It hurts too much to hold a pen for more than a few minutes at a time, and that pain stays for hours after I’ve stopped.

Over the past few months I have tried a few times to work myself back up to drawing, but every time I have it ends up in pain and frustration.

I will miss my art friends and fans, but I don’t think I will miss art too much. While I was constantly working to improve my artwork, I was never really able to keep up with those I admired, and getting a result that I liked from my art simply took too much time. When my injury happened I was close to deciding it was not worth it anyway, and afterward… sorry.

I am lucky that for now at least, my injury doesn’t prevent me from typing. I have been working on my writing, which I suppose in the end I consider my real passion. I had set it mostly aside for a long time to focus on visual arts which I suppose I had been conditioned to think of as more worthwhile or more popular.

Writing has been feeling very worthwhile. I’m happy to return to it.

I’m grateful for having been able to draw long enough to finish Silent Hill: Promise. I’m grateful for all the people who helped share in the experience of making it with me, and grateful for all the people who enjoyed it over the years. I may end up reformatting it and improving the typography at some point

I am grateful for all the people who enjoyed my illustrations and who followed my artistic endeavors and hobbies. I had a very good time sharing my work with everyone.

From now on, as I said, I will be focusing on literary works. Deviantart these days is not a good place to share writing. However, I have been considering continuing The Black Ward: Empty Chambers in written format, and if I do, you can count on it being posted and shared here on this account.

I will still be using deviantart to watch other artists, fave, and comment, so don’t worry about me disappearing entirely. :)You can always contact me here.
