Everybody dunks on 1950s jello dishes, but they’re like, the era equivalent of cakepops or those hideous undrinkable tiktok milkshakes.
They were a new trend pushed on housewives by magazines and advertising, making use of new cooking technology (gelatin and refrigeration).
They got made because they were fashionable, not because they were good.
