a) thats xenophobia, not racism. the americans hated us because we were from ireland, not because we were fucking white lol.
b) learn the difference between ‘these people are from a different country, get them out of here’ and ‘these people are of a different race, get them out of here’

I mean there was all sorts of racist propaganda at the time that tried to “scientifically” show that the irish were an inferior race compared to anglo-saxons
here we see some eugenicist propaganda that tries to argue that certain races are “further” evolved from our ape ancestors.
There was racism against the irish, it wasn’t pure xenophobia. The irish simply weren’t considered white, not until later.
This is why I hate when POC saying Irish didn’t experience “real racism”
