If otherkin are reincarnations, how are the majority of them all romanticized items/animals like wolves, cats, stars, gems, dragons, unicorns, et cetera…?

Like if otherkin was legitimate, the majority of them would be bacteriakin and algaekin and mousekin.

This is just your perception. Its confirmation bias. There are plenty of people with ‘unpopular’ kintypes out there. I can point you to several lizards, a bridge troll, and some insects.

I personally know a slug and several goblins. People with less pretty kin types just don’t talk about them as much.

Yes, because lord knows that goblins aren’t mythical creatures who are considered cool and romanticized in every story…

I guess slugs are romanticized too?

I’ve seen cockroach therians. Just because the kintypes are being displayed doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

@dragonst0mper

They aren’t – which only proves my point. Slugs are extremely common in nature, which leads us to assume that there would be *much* more slugkins.

@fromlylat

Once again, cockroaches are extremely common. Even if some people were ashamed to come out as cockroachekin, we’d *still* be seeing MUCH more cockroaches than, say, wolves. We’d see a gigantic community of cockroachkin on Tumblr and a very miniscule community of romanticized predators.

You’re missing a piece of the puzzle. There are exactly the expected number of people who were cockroaches in a past life. However, very few of those people are triggered to remember details of their lives as cockroaches and identify as cockroach kin.
