Touko adored just looking at Master Byakuya. The sight of him overtook her. Overwhelmed her. Sent her straight out into orbit.
His features were the perfect blend of Japanese and western. He
had a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, straight, slightly long nose. And
those beautiful, sea-blue eyes– always shining, framed and intense
behind his glasses. His hair was so pale, and it framed his face like a
portrait, falling around his chin, and sometimes in his eyes.
Touko loved, too, Master Byakuya’s stern gaze of concentration,
and his sharp, smug smile. She loved the way he cocked his head, and the
way that he tugged at the hems of his sleeves to straighten them. ….
‘Truly, a loathsome woman like me is unworthy even to gaze on his beauty. His nobility and grace and bearing…’
“Touko… Earth to Touko….”
Her master’s voice, sharp, but warm, slowly penetrated the pink
haze of adoration that had surrounded her as she looked upon him, the
rest of the world fading to a mere background in contrast to his beauty.
She jerked to attention and wiped her mouth, in case she had been drooling.
“O-oh! I– Y-yes?”
He gave her a smug look, under narrowed eyes. “You didn’t hear a word I was saying. Off in lala land again…”
“S-sorry master,” she whimpered flushing hotly under his gaze.
“Don’t be. It’s adorable.”
Byakuya leaned over, and planted a soft kiss on the edge of her mouth, and reached up to push her glasses up for her.
She smiled at him as the heat filled her face, and leaned her
cheek against his. They had been together for almost a decade now, and
looking at him still filled her stomach with the same butterflies as the
day they had met.
