Otherkin and fictionkin are not ‘SJWs’ and I don’t know why we’re getting lumped in with them.
Even people actually concerned with social justice aren’t SJWs. No one identifies that way unironically because it’s just a gross strawman made up by bigots afraid of change. It makes my head spin.
But the ridiculous false-image of kin on tumblr is so painfully easy to associate with it, so I get it.
(It’s ironic though, because some of the most socially careless, genuinely offensive people I’ve met have been kin. Racists, truscum, you name it.)
Its so true, and its such a shame. The popular image of kin on reddit is of self diagnosed teenagers who roleplay anime chairs to comfort themselves from faked mental illnesses and yell about being oppressed. I wish people would see that this is a gross made up stereotype only perpetuated by trolls.
