Could anyone explain Plushie Familiars to me? I’m interested by the concept of being able to make a companion with a functional purpose, but how do you give the familiar its duty? Do you have to make a whole new creation as the host or can you use a pre existing toy?
As I see it, the plushie familiars either tend to have the plushie act as a spirit vessel for the familiar to be housed in or use as a medium, or the plushie is the physical body of a spirit familiar that you created.
You can give its duty through a variety of ways. You could simply state it, you could hold a ritual to give its duty, you can create sigils to place upon it to mark its job, etc etc. Really, the sky is the limit with your creativity in regards to this.
Oh I see! I guess I need to research more spirit work then? Or can I create a spirit familiar?

Here is an in depth spirit vessel . One of many ways this can be done. Basically, you create it for a spirit to house. It would include things that are associated with spirit use and for that specific spirit. Lets say you’re making a spirit vessel for a spirit of a plant (such as a mandrake), you would place the plant matter inside of the vessel along with stuff like dirt, ashes, etc.
